x358 (the old man!) photos http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/ x358 (the old man!) photos Alan Brooke x358 Think this was taken in 1975. Thats me in the yellow overalls talking to Dave Robinson x120. Dave lived around the corner from me in Offerton, Stockport and I helped him get started racing. After I had to retire racing through injury I mechaniced for Dave and worked on the car. Dave bought a rolling chassis which I completed for him, including putting on a new box section roll cage same as my last car. http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38733475 38733475 First Car Built This is a photo of Dave Morris ex 347 who bought my car after I had to retire. This is the first car I built in 1974 which I raced for the first (and last!) time at the Belle Vue Boxing Day meeting in 1974. I found this photo on the excellent BRISCA F1 Stoxpics website - not sure of original photographer. Unfortunately I can't find my pics taken when I completed the car. http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=54438856 54438856 Alan Brooke x358 Fitting the 383 cu" Ford http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689551 38689551 Alan Brooke x358 Roll cage had rear "A" frame and other than side plating and wall thickness of material, It would meet requirements today. Roll cage was made out of 50 x50x3 box section. http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689550 38689550 Alan Brooke x358 Building my "new" car (first one I built) in1974. Built under our carport at my folks house in Stockport http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689549 38689549 Alan Brooke x358 Fuel tank was modified jerry can which was common at the time http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689552 38689552 Alan Brooke x358 http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689553 38689553 Alan Brooke x358 This was 1974 at Aycliffe. I had borrowed the Dave Robison (120) car as I had blown my 3.8 Jag engine (think at Wolverhampton) - I had a booking so used Dave's car. Incidentally this is the ex Norman Close car that won a final at Nelson, unfortunately engine was in a bad way and I ended up only managing a lap before bending the front axle. Called it quits there else the engine would have blown in this one as well! http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689548 38689548 Alan Brooke x358 A tidy up of the car for 1974 - think this was in Nelson pits in 1974. Again found this pic on the BRISCA F1 Stoxpics website http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=56403562 56403562 Alan Brooke x358 Belle Vue 1973 being helped along by Mike Lewis. Car was ex Vernon Parker with new roll cage from Doug Cronshaw. At this time think the engine was a 2.4 litre Jag http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689547 38689547 Alan Brooke x358 First time out, Belle Vue 1973 http://www.roteccyclesberkshire.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=38689546 38689546
